Practice Peace

These times are full of sorrow and chaos.
Let there be Peace in your mind and in your heart.
May it be so.

Here at Upon These Boards we are keenly aware
that when our world is in a lingering state of war, the people are rattled
internationally, nationally, personally, and ecologically.
The art of storytelling is as strong a force of peace as any.
and as artisans & creatives we feel this in our bones.

What might we each of us do today for your own peace today?
And then emboldened with courage, forge forward
to reflect that renewed alliance back to others who share the same longing.
It's not a struggle, rather it's the stroke of the paint brush,
the strum on the instrument, the feel of the clay, the glimmer of the wet ink.

We've been here before, dear friends, advocating for Peace in the last mid-century
and now we're not so far away from this century's mid-mark.
Time galloped ahead, and we forgot where we were.
Well, it's time to remember again.
Let's say "Oh, Yes, please." to that which is honestly peaceful,
and "Oh heavens, no - that will be quite enough of that."
to that which is inherently unkind.
