A genealogical epic is in the works. Author Randall Stuart is researching eleven generations of his mother's kin,
reaching back to the first inhabitants of New Amsterdam.
His study has been enriched by the good folks at
Orangetown Historical Museum and Archives in Rockland County, where he recently delivered a keynote speech at The 76 House in historic Tappan, New York.

Backstage Left

Picture
Within a remarkable theatre space, in a city by a beautiful bay,
a group of theatre artists find their home.

Backstage Left is an episodic recollection, rich in the history of San Francisco during the years 1974 though 1976.
It
shines a refulgent light
on an artistic apogee for one of the nation's premiere
repertory companies at the time:
the American Conservatory Theater.
Featuring interviews with many of the original members of the
theater company & conservatory,
author Randall Stuart weaves together memories of a golden epoch from not-so-very-long-ago.
This collection is equal parts memoir, interrelated essays,
gazettes, and surprising ghost stories:
a heartfelt ode to an ever-present time & place.
